Ozempic and/or nutritional support assisted weight management

Semaglutide (the active ingredient in Ozempic) is an FDA approved treatment for weight loss. Anti-obesity medications have been around for decades, and there are several that are currently in use. But Semaglutide is a new generation of highly effective hormone-based obesity medications. Semaglutide mimics a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), which is secreted in the gut and targets receptors throughout the body, including the brain. When a person is eating, GLP-1 sends the brain the “I’m full” signal. Semaglutide also decreases “gastric emptying,” the process by which stomach contents are moved into the first part of the small intestine as part of the digestive process. This effect decreases over time, however the action of sending the "I'm full" signal is why Semaglutide works over long periods of time. The action of making people feel full means people generally eat smaller portions at meals and do not have the same desire to constantly snack between meals.

lab-guided nutraceutical treatment and medical therapy

We utilize clinical lab tests to help guide personalized treatment recommendations including both pharmacological and nutraceutical therapies. Nutraceuticals are products derived from food sources that provide both nutrition and medicinal benefits and can include pre or probiotics. They contain a high concentration of bioactive compounds, derived from a natural source and have physiological benefits that aid in the prevention and treatment of disease. Nutraceuticals can improve health, delay the aging process, prevent chronic diseases, increase life expectancy, or support the structure and functioning of the body. They are also used in the prevention and treatment of mental health issues and disorders.

mental health services

According to recent estimates from John Hopkins, 1 in 4 adults in the US experience mental illness each year. Yet an estimated 50% of these individuals don't seek help. The most common mental health issues are anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, phobias, etc.) followed by mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder, etc.). Adult ADHD is another common and under-diagnosed, but treatable mental health disorder. Symptoms vary depending on the type of mental illness one is struggling with. However, some common symptoms associated with many types of mental illness include insomnia, agitation, loss of appetite, social withdrawal, emotional numbness, inability to concentrate, excessive fear and worry, self-harm, etc. We utilize careful screening assessments as indicated along with well-established clinical guidelines and therapies to help us integrate mental health considerations into your personal care plan to help you reach your health and wellness goals.

Young woman being treated for spider veins

spider-vein injections

Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure that treats varicose veins and spider veins. It involves injecting a solution into the vein, which causes it to scar and forces blood through healthier veins. The collapsed vein then fades away. Sclerotherapy is usually done to make the veins look better, but it can also improve symptoms related to varicose veins, including aching, swelling, burning, and cramping at night. The procedure is minimally invasive and works well for many people, especially on smaller varicose veins. After sclerotherapy, treated veins tend to fade within a few weeks, although they might not disappear completely. It can take a month or more for full results. Some veins need more than one sclerotherapy treatment. Sclerotherapy generally has few serious complications. Side effects that can occur where the needle goes into the skin include bruising, raised red areas called hives, small skin sores, darkened skin, and a number of tiny red blood vessels. These side effects usually go away within days to weeks. Some side effects may take months or longer to go away completely. Please note that sclerotherapy is not suitable for everyone. A health care provider does a physical exam before the procedure and checks for blood vessel disease. The provider asks questions about your medical history to determine if you are a good candidate for sclerotherapy.

Ketamine Associated Psychotherapy

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) is a mental health treatment method that involves using ketamine’s trance-inducing and pain-relieving properties to help individuals work through various mental and emotional challenges. Ketamine is a safe, effective, and legal NMDA receptor antagonist that interacts with glutamate, the brain’s most abundant neurotransmitter. Research has proven that ketamine can be a catalyst for increasing synaptic activity, increasing neural plasticity, and increasing neurogenesis. This increased flexibility and growth can significantly increase the efficacy of psychotherapy in the treatment of clinically resistant depression, anxiety, suicidality, PTSD, and other difficulties to treat and manage mood conditions. Ketamine is currently the only legally prescribed psychedelic medicine. Some of the major advantages of ketamine as a psychoactive medication are that it has a long-proven safety profile, it has few to no negative after-effects, and its duration of influence is typically only 45-120 minutes. This gives us an efficient time frame for administration and relatively little downtime per treatment. Typical ketamine experiences produce a pleasant sense of disconnection from one’s routine worries and thought patterns while inducing or enhancing feelings of calm, compassion, creativity, courage, confidence, connectedness, and clarity. You may also experience visual, auditory, or other sensory effects. Occasionally more intense experiences arise, but our trained and certified team is always present to help guide and support you.

What people say

"I have had several knee surgeries and PRP injections prior. I know my knees are a challenge, but the ultrasound guided PRP here was on par with anything I have had done in Seatle without the traffic or ferries. I would definitely recommend!"
-Chris
"My previous provider wouldn't even order labs to check my hormones in spite of having a complete hysterectomy. I had been miserable for almost two decades. The process of getting my labs done and hormone pelleting with Ascend was easy and efficient. I feel the best I ever remember feeling!"
